Write about the teaching
A review is your own first-hand experience of a class you actually took. That is the whole standard. It is also the reason the reviews here are worth reading at all.
What gets removed
- Anything about a professor’s appearance, race, gender, religion, disability, age, or personal life. None of it is about the class.
- Accusations of misconduct. Not because they don’t matter — because they matter too much for a rating site. They belong with the university, which can investigate.
- Threats, harassment, or anything meant to organise a pile-on against one person.
- Somebody else’s personal information: contact details, schedules, where they live.
- Reviews for a class you did not take, or written in exchange for anything.
What happens when you break them
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. These rules cover messages, group chat names and profiles as well as reviews. Anything that breaks them is removed; a serious or repeated breach suspends or closes the account. Suspended accounts cannot post, message, or send friend requests — the database enforces that, not the interface.
How to report something
Reviews, messages, profiles and group chat names can all be reported: pick a reason and it goes to a moderator. A person looks at every report within 24 hours and removes what breaks these rules. You can also Block anyone from their profile or a chat: you can no longer message each other or send each other requests, they are not told, and they cannot see that they have been blocked. Something urgent, or something the app won’t let you report? Email support@termchamp.com.
If you are a professor
Reviews here are students’ personal opinions, not statements of fact by TermChamp. If a review about you is abusive, names something private, or states something as fact that is false, email support@termchamp.com with the professor name and the course. You do not need an account to do that, and you will get an answer.
What TermChamp will not do is remove a review for being negative. A fair bad review is the point of the site.
What the app does automatically
Reviews are capped at five an hour and friend requests at forty a day, so no one account can flood the site. Reviews are anonymous by default and stay anonymous — your name is never attached to one unless you switch it on yourself, one review at a time.
